Stephen P. Roiger

Attorney at Law

Stephen Roiger attended college at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, from which he graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Portuguese. After college, he thought he might like to try working in the legal field, so he took a position as a records specialist (and later as a case assistant) with Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, LLP. After observing the daily activities of the attorneys in the office for a few years, he decided to attend law school. He was accepted at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California, from which he received his Juris Doctorate in 2006.

After graduation, he agreed to open a small practice in Trenton, New Jersey with a former classmate at the University of Minnesota. The Law Office of Ian Bratlie practiced exclusively in the area of immigration law. Primarily working in immigration court, their practice concentrated on removal defense which usually took the form of cancellation of removal or asylum. They also helped detained clients to obtain or lower bonds. In addition, the office also assisted some clients with business and family based petitions for permanent residence.

In 2009, having closed the office, Stephen returned to Minnesota. He joined Elaraj & Associates in July, 2009, where he now works as an immigration lawyer and arbitration case managemer. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and is licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey.
